Whitby Yacht Club

The Whitby Yacht Club of Whitby Ontario is idyllically situated between a safe harbour and the sandy shores of Lake Ontario. WYC has active social, racing and cruising programs enjoyed by kids, teens and adults.

The entrance to Whitby Harbour is 23 miles East of Toronto, 6 miles West of Oshawa and 32 miles North of Wilson N.Y.. The most conspicuous object in the area is the 300 foot OPP antenna North of the harbour. There is a large blue factory building East of the entrance and a 13 story condominium on the North shore. Please consult with Chart #'s 2049, 2062, and 14810 (U.S.). After passing the inner harbour green flashing lighthouse, keep the red cone marks to starboard.

Whitby YC is proud of their club and facilities and welcome you to enjoy them. Members of Yacht Clubs and marinas, whether POWER or SAIL, are granted automatic access to all Whitby Yacht Club facilities.

The Club is under the command of the OFFICER OF THE DAY. The Officer of the Day will monitor Channel 68 and welcome you at the guest dock just outside the club house. Please register in the SIGN-IN log and the OD will assign you overnight dockage.

Whitby Yacht Club is the proud host of the 2008 LYRA Annual Regatta. Plans are well underway to have fabulous racing and evenings of great food and entertainment.  WHC welcomes your Fleets, One Designs, Individuals and Organizations to come and compete. They will work with you to give you full autonomy over your participation. WYC will name one of your events to coincide with LYRA, your own course and your race officials, incorporate a designated land area or dock area in our site plan, etc.

The basic reciprocal policy is that the first two nights are free and a fee of $1.05 per foot will be charged on any subsequent nights. However, your members will receive whatever your Club offers us, recognizing that each club’s facilities and availability of docks are different and are instrumental in forming their own reciprocal policy.

The finger docks are furnished with potable water and hydro. Dock power connections are either 15 or 20 Amp twistlock. receptacles and adapters are available in the Clubhouse free with a returnable deposit. Pumpout is available at $12 per use. After-hours access to the clubhouse is via a combination locked door at the East End of the clubhouse, where the washrooms, showers and pop machine are located. BBQ’s and bicycles are available for visitor’s use. The Town of Whitby is a short bus; taxi or bike ride away.
