Etobicoke Yacht Club
Etobicoke Yacht Club is nestled in a large sheltered harbour on the west side of Humber Bay on Lake Ontario. Being only 15 minutes west of downtown Toronto EYC is close to all the big city has to offer and at the same time have the seclusion of Humber Bay Park. Etobicoke Yacht Club has one of the most active cruising fleets on Lake Ontario. EYC burgees can be readily seen throughout Lake Ontario, the Thousand Islands and as far north as Georgian Bay. EYC is a unique club because of the diversity of its members. EYC is a truly “self help” club. The members contribute countless hours of their talents and energy to maintain the many programs the club has to offer. From cruising to racing, gardening to social, junior sail to dock building there is a place for everyone to get involved and put their particular expertise to good use. Many members are experienced blue water sailors, having sailed the Atlantic, Pacific Oceans and the Caribbean and Mediterranean Seas. Each year EYC offers ten to twelve organized cruises with an average thirty vessels per cruise. Destinations range from short jaunts to Toronto Island and the north shore through to more extended cruises across the lake. If you are new to cruising you'll want to learn more about the "Buddy Program" that partners you with a seasoned Sea Dog to help familiarize you with foreign, but friendly, ports of call! This is a great way to sail with other club members, trade tips on boats and make new friends. Visitors to EYC are provided with the same reciprocal rights offered by their home Yacht Club. Reasonable rates are available for extended visits and non-reciprocal Yacht Club guests. All visitors are required to sign in at the Club Office and to be assigned a dock. The Visitors' Dock is for temporary docking only. For more information on the Etobicoke Yacht Club, click here.
